Chronology of the Center
-August 2004 – a group of CEOs from the largest IT Centres of China underwent a week study course in MIRBIS. The course was combined with a social programme both in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
-September 2004 – official opening the MRBIS Chinese Educational and Research Centre. More than 60 guests were invited to the Ceremony. Among them were officials from the PRC Embassy in the Russian Federation, the Chinese and Russian journalists, representatives from businesses and the Chinese cultural communities.
-November 2004 – the first group of the Chinese language. At present there are 13 language groups functioning in the Centre. Educational Department of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow donated text books and audio materials to MIRBIS and renders all round support with relevant consultations and recommendations
-February 2004 – the MIRBIS faculty and students celebrated the Chinese New Year in the restaurant “Old Beijing” The party was organized together with the China – Russia Cultural Centre in the form of traditional Chinese New year ceremony. The guest sitting around the traditional Chinese tables enjoyed the national cuisine, dances and songs, and then participated in the calligraphy contest. The party ended with handing prizes to the winners.
-February 2005– a visit of the MIRBIS delegation to China. Vice rector Prof. Elena Zoubkova, the Dean of Undergraduate programme Elena Rostovtseva, and the MIRBIS Advisor on the Chinese Affairs Prof. Cao Zhongde paid visit to the School of International Business and School of Economics in Nankai University where they signed a memorandum on cooperation between the our Business Schools.
-March 2005 – a round table meeting of business women from China and Russia. The business ladies got the chance to get acquainted with each other and share their views and experience. In the friendly and warm atmosphere they talked, made jokes and drank green tea. The meeting was a small step forward to bring together the Chinese and Russian entrepreneurs that will promote for further facilitation of the cooperation between the two countries.
-April 2005– a group of the MIRBIS MBA and presidential program students were taken to Hong Kong to attend the Electronic Fair (Spring addition) where they got the chance to get acquainted with the largest Chinese manufactures of electronics and made business contacts . The stay programme was supported by the Hong Trade Development Council.
-May 2005– a party devoted to the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the 2nd World War. 80 War veterans were invited to the “Old Beijing” restaurant were they watched the concert and enjoyed delicious Chinese food. Then they recollected their young years and together with the Chinese singers sang songs of those times.
-June 2005 – a visit of Dr. Hui Chi Ming, the famous Chine businessman - the Chairman and President of 26 companies and projects in PRC, and the youngest and the most generous donor who made the largest contribution in the China Glory Facilitative Poverty Aid Foundation. Dr. Hui Chi Ming spoke before the students and faculty. In his unofficial talk he described his life and the way how he had managed to achieve that success. The case of his life and career impressed the audience The Academic Board of MIRBIS adopted a decision to confer the Honorary Professor Title of MIRBIS to Dr. Hui Chi Ming.
-September 2005 – a visit of the MIRBIS delegation to China and Hong Kong by the invitation of Dr. Hui Chi Ming. In Beijing the delegation comprised of the Rector Prof. Savin, Vice rector Prof. Zoubkova and Executive director of the MIRBIS Chinese Centre made a presentation about MIRBIS at the State Administration for Foreign Experts Accreditation, and submitted the relevant documents needed for the accreditation. In Hong Kong at the official inauguration ceremony prof. Savin conferred the title of the MIRBIS Honorary Professor to Dr. Hui Chi Ming. The ceremony was attended by 300 most prominent Hong Kong and Chinese business, public and political figures. The General Consular of the Russian Federation to Hong Kong and Macao Mr. Smorodin made a speech where he dwelled upon the importance of such public actions for better collaboration between China and Russia. Professor Hui Chi Ming agreed to give his name to the MIRBIS Chinese Educational and Research Centre and kindly offered all round support in its endeavours.
-October 2005 – a business seminar in Hong Kong. A group of MIRBIS students within the forthcoming course “How to work in China and with China” visited Hong Kong “Electronics Fair” (Fall edition) where they learned the “route” how to enter the Chinese production markets and get acquainted with the basic principles to work with China.
-October 2005 – a group of Directors and CEOs from 10 Chinese Investment companies came to MIRBIS for a 7 day study course named “Investment policy of Russia during the transitional period” . The course was comprised out of 6 lectures delivered by top experts in investment policy of Russia and governmental officials and ended with handing MIRBIS certificates.
-November 2005 – was launched a pilot interactive course “How to Work with China and in China”. The 72 hour course is comprised out of 18 master classes delivered by practicing experts and scholars both Chinese and Russian and designed for those entrepreneurs who either have been already working with the Chinese markets or planning to do so. Besides a number of MIRBIS students who are interested in associating their future with China are attending the classes as well. The course has caused interest from the regions especially industrial zones of the Far East as it provides the listeners with the practical knowledge and competences to be efficiently applied in every day practice.
