The MIRBIS Chinese Educational and Research Center named after Hui Chi Ming

Russia and China have had a long-standing history of economic, cultural and political cooperation and friendship. One of the longest common bonders and many interests in common make it vitally important for the two countries to develop cross-border cooperation and participate in joint economic projects to produce a synergy of development.

To meet the requirements of the present day world the MIRBIS head administration in collaboration with its British partners took the decision to start a a MIRBIS Chinese Center that might satisfy the knowledge sharing between Russia and China to achieve better mutual understanding and to pull efforts in developing international framework in our countries.

An official opening ceremony of the MIRBIS Chinese Educational and Research Center named after Hui Chi Mingwas held on September 16, 2004 and was attended by guests from the Embassy of the People’s Chine Republic in Russia, mass media, as well as by Russian and Chine business people, MIRBIS faculty, students and prominent academics.

The aims of the Center are:

• To run training programmes for companies doing or willing to do business in China or in Russia as well as with the companies in the UK (together with Middlesex University Chinese Management Center). This will include cross-cultural and language training together with business seminars and company visits
• To conduct research, pertaining to the business needs of individuals and organizations in China, Russia and worldwide;
• To facilitate the transfer of knowledge and competencies between Chinese and Russian business practices

In order to meet these aims, the Chinese Centre:

• Organizes, promotes and facilitates seminars, workshops, symposia and conferences for Russian and Chinese business structures and commercial organizations to share knowledge and experience between Russian and Chinese civil servants, business people, researchers and scientists both in Russia and in China
• Conducts contract and academic research projects relating to business issues that are both local or global, functional and strategic in nature
• Carries out feasibility studies for businesses of China and Russia for further development of commercial projects in relevant areas and regions.
• Arranges seminars for the MIRBIS MBA students, as a part of the MBA courses, aimed at their exposure to economic developments in China and other countries of the Far and Southern-East Asia, both in general and in specific industries and lines of business
