Pre-sessional Training Center

Pre-sessional Training Center was set up as a structural division of MIRBIS Institute. Its key goal is to attract school leavers from Moscow, Moscow region, other entities of the Russian Federation and CIS countries, to provide them with career counseling and pre-sessional training aimed at entering the Institute and successful studying in it.

The Center works in the following key fields:

1. Pre-sessional course

High quality of training in MIRBIS pre-sessional courses gives school leavers an opportunity to become competitive on the market of candidates of the most prestigious educational institutions in the country. In 2007 about 89% of those attending the pre-sessional courses were enrolled in MIRBIS Institute, every year they also enter the leading educational institutions such as the Moscow University, the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Plekhanov Academy of Economics, the University of Peoples’ Friendship and others. Students who enter the Institute after taking pre-sessional courses are more adaptable to various forms of training, at the same time they are ready to master the vast curriculum which is usually proved by the first examination period. Leavers of pre-sessional courses show higher progress as compared with the average results at the faculty and even higher level (up to 80%) among students with good and excellent grades.

2. Collaboration with different educational institutions (partner schools) aims at career counseling and pre-sessional training of their students. To attain this goal the Institute signs contracts of cooperation with secondary education institutions and sets up the so-called profile schools where classes are conducted b y MIRBIS lecturers.

3. Career counseling for school leavers. To define whether training and personal qualities of school leaver meet the requirements of the future profession you should have a clear idea about your future professional work. In 2007 the Institute founded School of Young Entrepreneur.

4. Preliminary testing for entry subjects with lecturers’ consultations, contests on key subjects, competitions of research projects on economics.
