Anatoly E. Karpov

Anatoly Karpov was born on May 23, 1951 in Zlatoust. He graduated from Economic faculty of Leningrad State University.
Anatoly Karpov – PhD in Economics, a standing member of the International Informatization Academy, Academy of Safety, Defense and Order and the International academy of integration of a science and business.
A.E.Karpov was elected as a People's Deputy of the USSR (1989-1991). He is Laureate of the Annual All-Russia Public Prize «The National Endowment » in 2006.
Anatoly Karpov is the honoured Master of sports of the USSR and the international Grand Master. He won the chess championship 16 times world champion on a chess through the period of 1975-1985. For 11 years he was acknowledged as the world best chess player of the year. He is the holder of 11 chess "Oscars".
Since 1982 A.Karpov has been actively involved in public activities. Anatoly Karpov is the President of the International Association of Peace Foundations, a member of Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Ambassador of UNICEF, Chairman of the Trustees board of International humanitarian public non-governmental organization «Chernobyl – Pomosch» (“Chernobyl-Aid”), The president of the international organization «For nuclear disarmament » (Switzerland), the President of Russian ecological foundation TEKHECO, a member of Public Council under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Rerikh’s foundation., Chairman of the Trustee Board of St. Nicholas’ Charity foundation and the Co-chairman of the «Chess and education» commission of the Russian Chess Federation.
A.E.Karpov was conferred the numerous governmental awards of the USSR, Russia and foreign countries, including Lenin's, and the Red Banner of Labour Orders , «Order for merits before Motherland» (3rd degree), Daniel Moskovskij (2nd degree) Order, Sergey Radonezhskij Order (2nd degree), Sports Outstanding Achievements Award (Cuba), the Olympic Order, etc. He is the honour citizen of the following cities: Zlatoust, Orsk, Tula, Serby (Ukraine), Molodechno (Belarus), the Chelyabinsk oblast, Texas state (USA).
Anatoly Karpov is the author of numerous books on the chess theory , collection of his chess-games and autobiographical books.
